An open letter from KOUG Radio PR Director Megan Johnson

Hello there, VanCougs!

My name is Megan, and I’m the new PR Director of KOUG Radio; your very own student-run radio station right here on campus. I’m here to let you know some of the great things KOUG Radio has in store for you for this school year.

First, we’re invited you to our KOUG Radio Open House on September 12 at 7 p.m. in the Quantitative Skills Center. This is the first opportunity that most new and transfer students will have to see where our whole program is run, and to mix and mingle with all of the station’s DJs. Come and join the festivities!

Second, we’ve instituted a new program called DJ for a Day. Seeing as many students don’t have a whole lot of time for extra curricular activities, with studying and all, this is a great option to be involved. Instead of devoting yourself to a weekly radio show as a full time DJ, you can be one for a day. Make a playlist the represents your tastes and passions, bring on a guest to debate the latest news or entertainment gossip, or whatever else you want to do.

And third, as always, you can become a full time DJ with us! If you’ve ever dreamed of having your voice on the airwaves, now’s the time. There are half-hour and hour-long show options throughout the week that could work for any schedule. Plus it’s a wonderful chance for you to boost your resume and show your love for the music that drives your life.

There will be many more events to come throughout the coming semester, so be on the lookout for those at www.kougradio.com or on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/KOUGRadioLive. You can find all the information you need at either of these sites for any of the programs you would like to be involved with. You can also tune in from any Apple or Android device with our new KOUG Radio app. Take a look for it in the App Store or Google Play store.

Thank you so much for making your radio station the best it can be, by listening in and giving us feedback. Hope to see you all around campus!
