Chancellor honors the memory of Barb Krahn

When Mel Netzhammer, chancellor of WSU Vancouver, began his address on the state of the campus in November, he asked for a moment of silence in memory of Barb Krahn., a member of the WSU Vancouver Facilities and Operations staff, recently passed away. Netzhammer honored her caring  and commitment toward the university.

“[Krahn] loved WSU Vancouver and being a Coug,” Netzhammer said. “She cared about her job and always did great work. She was widely known on campus for her warmth, giving nature, perseverance and her sense of humor. The two occasions I had to meet with her both ended with me smiling broadly and wondering a little whether she was in charge. Barb will be missed.”

In 2011, Krahn received the WSU Vancouver Chancellor’s Award for Staff Excellence.
