West Columbia Gorge Humane Society hosts annual fundraising hike

The annual West Columbia Gorge Humane Society’s (WCGHS) Hike on the Dike event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 4. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Pendleton Woolen Mills store located in Washougal. The WCGHS is an independent, non-profit, no kill dog and cat Humane Society shelter located in Washougal, Washington.

The Hike on the Dike costs $25 to sign up for the 10k and 5k runs or the leisure walk; the proceeds from the hike go to help fund WCGHS. The event begins and ends in the parking lot of the Pendleton Woolen Mills store. There will be local vendors present, as well as a variety of food for sale.

Pets are welcome at this event, and the first 50 pre-registrants will be given free microchip services. The first 250 guests will receive a special gift. According to the WCGHS website, “this is a great opportunity to say ‘hello’ to the coming summer weather and to share time with our neighbors and friends. All for a good cause.”
