Women Warriors

The AmeriCorps and Vet Corps has teamed up with Washington State University Vancouver to celebrate women warriors at a multimedia event. The event will include a screening of the documentary film SERVICE, a veteran panel discussion, a keynote address given by Lourdes E. Alvarado-Ramos, the current Director of Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs and a meet and greet. This event is part of Women’s History Month awareness. The event is designed to bring acknowledgement to female veterans, as many do not identify with that status. As mentioned on the flyer, “SERVICE, the documentary film, portrays the courage of several women veterans as the transition from active duty to their civilian lives…we watch these women wrestle with prosthetics, homelessness, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Military Sexual Trauma.”

The event will take place on April 3 from 4-6pm and will be located in the Dengerink Administration Building in Room 110; parking is $3 in the Blue Lots. Contact Steven Roberts to RSVP at steven.roberts@wsu.edu.
